Foster's India plans to launch more beer brands from its global portfolio and enter the wine market according to a report by Business Standard.

Foster's, which entered India in 1998 is also planning to introduce a new strong beer brand into the Indian market even though the company does not have a brand in the strong beer category.

The company currently markets its products from the Aurangabad Brewery and plans to also increase its reach in India. However, according to the Business Standard it is not interested in picking up the 26% stake in the UB Group beer business.

Pradeep Gidwani, managing director of Foster's India said: "Our strategy is to build our brand Foster's and not add up capacities."

Foster's beer portfolio includes Crown Lager, Foster's Ice, Carlton Gold, Cascade, Premium Lager and Victoria Bitter. The wine labels include Wolf Blass, Jamieson's, St Clement and Chateau St Jean.
