Glenfiddich, distributed by First Drinks Brands, is investing in a GBP1m (US$1.5m) UK marketing campaign in a bid to boost Christmas sales.

'Christmas past to Christmas present' will incorporate consumer and trade press advertising, as well as direct email activity in order to drive sales, said First Drinks yesterday (17 November). 

The Glenfiddich website has also been revamped to support the Christmas activity.

The campaign, to begin this month and continue through December, aims to reflect the history of the single malt Scotch whisky brand, which was launched in 1887.

"Glenfiddich has pioneered a fantastic year for the single malt category," said Tarja Tuunanen, senior brand manager for Glenfiddich at First Drinks.

"Over the last few years, Christmas sales of the brand have been phenomenal."
