By just-drinks.com editorial team | 8 June 2006
Sales of Flavoured Alcoholic Beverages (FABs) in Austria have plunged in the last three years, according to recent figures.
A report by International Spirits and Wine Record, released yesterday (7 June), indicated that FAB sales have fallen by 70% since 2003 and are expected to fall to 3.75m litres this year.
Introduced to Austria in the 1980s, FABs took their time to prove popular, peaking in 2003, when sales in the country stood at 12.8m litres.
The Record also noted a negative trend in many other European countries for FABs.
