By | 4 October 2006

Viña Valdivieso is hoping for a strong performance from its domestic sales this year.

The Chilean winery said yesterday (3 October) that it expects sales values from its home market to register an increase of between 10% and 15% in 2006, with volume sales forecast to rise by around 13%.

Viña Valdivieso exports around 80% of its output to countries including the UK, Germany and the Netherlands. Its export sales have been hit by increasing competition this year, however, dipping by around 15% so far in 2006 compared to the corresponding period last year.

In a statement, company spokesperson Cristian Casado also said that Valdivieso intends to launch a premium Chardonnay brand, 'Blanc de Blancs', before the end of this year.
