Cavit has confirmed a change of export director.

The Italian wine co-operative, which is based in Trentino, said yesterday (14 October) that Andrea Nicolini will be responsible for exports to Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Nicolini replaces Claudio Gambarotto, who left the company in August to set up consultancy Wine Export System.

Nicolini joins Cavit after 11 years with Illva Spa Wine & Spirits, which owns the Amaretto di Saronno spirit brand.

"The move to appoint an export director with both sales and marketing experience is a strategic one that we believe will help build consistent long-term business," said CAVIT's general manager Enrico Zanoni. "Andrea has strong and relevant experience to help us achieve export goals for Cavit."
