Joining Europe as vice president of development is Simon Long, who has more than a decade of international sales and marketing experience, focused on a variety of markets. In addition to driving's business development efforts in Europe, Long will also support's business development opportunities in Latin America. Joining's U.K. operation is Derek Smith, who becomes the company's distributor channel director for the United Kingdom.

Joining's European management team are:

Simon Long, vice president of development, Europe, brings 11 years of international sales and marketing experience in the drinks industry. Most recently, Long was UDV's sales development director, Europe, responsible for improving UDV's sales and customer management effectiveness. Prior to this, he led the development of global sales standards and capabilities, and a state-of-the-art benchmarking methodology for sales and marketing. His most recent in-market role was as sales director for IDV's business in Portugal. Earlier in his career, Long was responsible for J&B Scotch Whiskey's first and fourth biggest markets globally, Spain and Portugal. He also managed a portfolio of brand-market units in Scandinavia and South Europe and was IDV's sales and marketing manager, new brand development. Long graduated from Oxford University with a BA in Modern Languages and is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and French.

Derek Smith, distributor channel director, U.K., has nearly 20 years of drinks industry experience, most recently as Key Accounts Controller for UDV, managing the independent wholesale, cash and carry, and convenience retail sectors. Prior to this, he was sales director for the western republics of the former Soviet Union for International Distillers and Vintners. Before joining IDV, Smith held a range of commercial roles for HP Bulmer (cider, beer, soft drinks). In addition to excellent on and off-premise sales experience, he brings leading edge customer and brand marketing, category and space management knowledge to the U.K. team.
