Scotch whisky group Edrington has appointed Keith Bonnington as travel retail manager to boost sales in European markets.

The company is hoping to increase turnover of The Famous Grouse, The Macallan and Highland Park brands in Europe.

Bonnington has worked in the Scotch whisky industry for the last four years, and has experience of both travel retail and domestic markets.

"I am looking forward to building the profile and visibility of Edrington's Scotch whisky brands, which have exciting prospects and great potential within the global travel retail market," Bonnington said.

"The Macallan single malt has just experienced a record year and continues to be the fastest growing premium malt in travel retail, while Highland Park last year launched the brand's first ever duty free exclusive. The Famous Grouse too goes from strength to strength with the addition of its new malt range."
