US: Dr Pepper Snapple Group acquires bottler

Dr Pepper Snapple Group has acquired distribution company Seven-UP Bottling Co of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, for an undisclosed fee, the soft drinks firm has announced.

The family-owned distribution company serves customers in eastern Wisconsin handles leading Dr Pepper Snapple (DPS) brands, including Dr Pepper, 7UP and Sunkist, said DPS, announcing the deal yesterday (19 May). 

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
 
"Strengthening the route to market for our leading brands is a core strategy for DPS," said said Joe Rowland, the group's senior vice president and general manager, Central Region. 

"Seven-UP Bottling Co of Sheboygan will play a key role in expanding our company-owned direct store delivery operations throughout the upper Midwest," he said.
