Diageo announced the restructure in March

The former head of Diageo's production business in Scotland has decided to leave the company, following a restructure.

Bryan Donaghey, who was MD of Diageo Scotland until earlier this year, had recently moved from the role of Europe supply director to supply strategy director, a company spokesperson confirmed to just-drinks today (17 September). It comes after Diageo announced in March an overhaul of its UK operations, resulting in 80 jobs being lost across its 50 Scottish sites.

In a statement, Diageo said: "Bryan has severed his employment with Diageo and it is not appropriate for us to comment any further, but we wish him the very best for the future.”

The statement added that Donaghey had "served Diageo with great distinction".

The company declined to comment on whether he will be replaced as its supply strategy director.

Donaghey was appointed to head up Diageo's Scottish production business in 2006, when the company merged its logistical and production operations in the country.
