Diageo confirms Australasia commercial director switch

The commercial director of Diageo's Australasian operations has decided to leave the company.

A spokesperson for Diageo Australia has confirmed to just-drinks today (21 May) that Denis Brown will step down from the post, having spent 18 years with the company. Brown has been commercial director for four-and-a-half years, and is leaving for personal reasons.

“Denis had considered moving to another market overseas with Diageo, but has decided to stay in Australia, mainly due to his family,” the spokesperson said.

Amongst Brown’s roles at Diageo have been general manager Diageo Czech Republic and Slovakia and GM of marketing for Guinness Anchor Berhad, Diageo's joint venture with Heineken and Asia Pacific Breweries in Malaysia.

Doug Bagley, the general manager of Diageo China, will replace Brown as commercial director for Australasia from 1 July.
