Diageo is to launch a cream liqueur in South Florida and Phoenix, according to a report in today's Miami Herald, which will be aimed at the Hispanic market.

Diageo is apparently rolling out a dulce de leche liqueur called Caraluna.

"We're always doing research and one area that became really obvious to us is that there isn't a cream liqueur for the Hispanic market,'' said Kevin McLaughlin, Diageo's global innovation director, in the report. "And dulce de leche has really become a flavor trend, so we matched those two facts.''

The launch of Caraluna will be supported by in-store tastings in Hispanic areas.

Diageo hopes to roll the drink into the rest of the US and Latin America.
