Diageo has teamed up with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in the UK, through its single malt whisky brand Talisker.
The drinks giant said today (29 October) that it is rolling out a limited edition "nautical-themed" gift pack for Talisker, with GBP2 (US$3.25) from each sale going to the RNLI.
The gift pack, which contains a 10-year-old bottle of Talisker in a blue case, will be available nationwide at Sainsbury's from 1 November.
"The RNLI's constant presence at the station on Skye [home to the Talisker distillery] provides safe passage for the visitors to the island and our distillery, so we have first hand experience of the vital role they play," said Talisker's senior brand manager Steve Wood. "We're very excited about this fundraising initiative and giving whisky fans the opportunity to enjoy a Christmas gift with a difference."
Last month, Diageo released a "luxury gift-pack" for Talisker, containing a bottle of the 25 Year Old variant. The packaging includes an oak display box, along with two bevelled-bottomed tipping glasses. A brass disk included in the pack can be returned to Talisker for a personal inscription.
