UK: Diageo sponsors New Year's Eve transport

Diageo is to sponsor free public transport for London and Edinburgh's New Year's Eve revellers.
The deal includes advertising across London's tube and bus network throughout the festive season, Diageo said today (7 December). A spokesperson told just-drinks no financial details of the link-up are being released.
It is the second year in a row the group has sponsored New Year's Eve travel in London and the first time it has sponsored Edinburgh’s Hogmany celebrations.
London's NYE sponsors in 2010, the cash loan firm Wonga.com, ran into controversy when a member of the London Assembly branded its sponsorship “shameful”. Wonga said it is "totally transparent" about the way it operates.
Diageo sponsors a host of events, including the Ryder Cup and the national rugby bodies for England, Wales and Scotland.
