Diageo opened a centre in Panama last month

Diageo has cut the ribbon on a “technical” centre in Singapore seven weeks after opening one in Panama.

The new centre will help lead innovation and branding in Asia-Pacific, the world's largest spirits market, Diageo said yesterday (24 July). It will also allow for new capabilities in liquid and packaging development, the company said.

The centre is Diageo's third supply facility to open as part of Diageo’s Asia-Pacific hub in Singapore, alongside a distribution and product finishing centre and super premium finishing centre, the company said. It also follows a similar technical centre in Panama that opened in June to help drive innovations in Latin America.

“Singapore’s proximity to key Asian markets, a pool of high calibre talent and a solid infrastructure makes it an ideal base to site our regional supply chain capabilities,” a Diageo Singapore spokesperson said.

The centre employs 30 people, bringing Diageo's Asia-Pacific workforce to 2,400.

Total spend on the new facilities was not disclosed.
