Diageo has named a general counsel to represent its business in North America.
The UK-based drinks giant confirmed yesterday (8 January) that Kellye Walker will assume the position from this month.
Walker will report directly to group general counsel Tim Proctor, and serve as a member of the Diageo North America executive team headed by the unit's president and CEO, Ivan Menezes.
Walker joins Diageo from BJ's Wholesale Club, where she has been chief legal officer since February 2003.
"The depth of Kellye's experience makes her well-qualified to lead Diageo's legal team in North America and a valuable addition to the organisation internationally," said Proctor. "I am confident that she will successfully execute the department's legal strategy in the complex regulatory environment of our industry."
Sectors: Beer & cider, Spirits, Wine
Companies: Diageo
