Goldman Sachs has stepped down as one of Diageo's new corporate brokers. The bank was named as one of the drinks giant's brokers only last week.

Goldman Sachs, which is a financial adviser to Allied Domecq, resigned on Wednesday after AD voiced its concerns that Goldman could not work so closely with both of them, according to a report by the Times in the UK.

While neither Goldman Sachs nor AD would comment on the report, a spokeswoman for Diageo said the company would not seek to replace Goldman, which was appointed last week along with Credit Suisse First Boston.
