Diageo is poised to acquire Dutch vodka producer Ursus Vodka Holdings. The drinks giant  confirmed yesterday that it is in talks with the Dutch company to acquire Ursus and Ursus Roter brands.

"We have signed an agreement with the owners which is subject to a number of conditions including clearance by Competition authorities," a spokesperson told just-drinks yesterday.

Ursus vodka ships around 400,000 cases to over 60 countries. Ursus Roter is a sloe vodka and has a lower abv of 21%. The drink is mixed with a fusion of sloe berries.

"One of the conditions mentioned above precludes me from providing you with further details about the agreement," the spokesperson added.
