The second largest brewing concern in New Zealand, DB Breweries, has announced that it has acquired seven Liquorland stores from the privately-held company, New Zealand Liquor, for an undisclosed sum.

The deal includes five stores in the Auckland area and a further two in Mount Maunganui and Hamilton. DB Breweries said the stores would be sold to franchisees at the earliest opportunity.

Asia Pacific Breweries, the joint venture owned by the Singaporean group, Fraser & Neave, and the global brewing force, Heineken, controls around 77% of DB Breweries.
