CANADA: Danone further strengthens position in home and office market

By | 9 October 2002

French group Danone, through its Quebec subsidiary, Labrador Laurentiennes, has acquired Patrimoine des Eaux du Quebec.

The company is ranked the number three player in the Canadian home and office delivery (HOD) market.

With 2001 volumes of 70 million litres,  mainly under the "Naturo" brand, it is market leader in the Quebec City region.

Danone is already Canada's leading operator in the sector with a strong presence in the Montreal region and the acquisition reinforces its regional and national leadership, the group said.

Danone is thus able to pursue its development strategy on the North American HOD market (Canada, US, Mexico), where it has achieved a co-leading position.
