Coopers Brewery has unveiled two additions to its lager portfolio. The family-owned brewer, which is the subject of a takeover bid by Lion Nathan, has launched Coopers Lager and Coopers Premium Light as replacements for Regency Draught and Regency Light.

The two beers are already available in South Australia, where the company is based, and will be rolled out across the rest of Australia in the near future.

Speaking to local reporters, Coopers chairman and marketing director Glenn Cooper said that he was confident the premium lagers would change drinkers' perceptions about Coopers and lagers. The company is traditionally best known for its ales.
