Metal shavings found in a jar of Nescafe coffee have forced Nestle to recall around 250,000 jars.

The recall has affected an entire day's production, although a spokesman for Nestle, said the company has only received one complaint from a consumer who discovered the metal shavings.

"We've only had one complaint reported but obviously we have had to recall the whole day's production," a spokesman for Nestle told just-drinks.com.

The shavings were found in 100 gram jars of Nescafe Original price marked at £1.89. The affected jars are also marked with a best before date of 01.2003 and have the production code 1025.
