Canandaigua Wine Co., a unit of Constellation Brands, is rolling out three new Australian sparkling wines under the Lorikeet label.

"Lorikeet was custom-made for the American taste," said Peggy Fox, marketing director for Canandaigua Wine. "We created a sparkling wine that is easy to drink, approachable, and contemporary, making it appropriate for all occasions, not just for a special toast. What's more, we've included sparkling Shiraz, an exciting addition to the US market."

The Brut, Extra Dry and red Shiraz styles will be available first in Florida, Texas, Boston and Syracuse, NY, and will retail for US$8.99.

The wine label features the lorikeet - a bird native to Australia.
