SPAIN: Coke launches bottle version of Burn

Coca-Cola Spain has launched a bottled version of its night drink Burn to continue expansion into the country's fast-growing energy drinks market.

The new 20cl glass (non-returnable) bottle has a "modern and stylish" look especially designed for the Spanish market, Coke said. The launch will be accompanied by a major TV campaign next month.

The company introduced the beverage in summer 2002 and its sugar-free version last year. In Spain the drink is sold in a 250ml shiny black can sporting a bright red flame.

Despite the expansion, Coke faces heavy competition in a market crowded with rivals including Red Bull and a string of generic brands.
