US: Coke calls on Smartphones in promotion push

Coca-Cola Co. has signed a deal with Smartphones Technologies to deliver downloadable Coke content to mobile phones in the US and Canada.
Smartphones will create and distribute officially-licensed Coke material for delivery to mobile devices, including ringtones and ringback tones, wallpapers and animations. The phone company will also create Coke video ringtones, text messaging campaigns and mobile games.
Coke youth licensing category manager Kelli Sogar said: "Smartphones is a leader in mobile downloads for the youth and college market. Downloadable content is a natural brand extension for Coca-Cola that will reach millions of cell phone users."
