TURKEY: Coke bottler secures warchest to boost capacity

Coca-Cola Içecek (CCI), the Turkey-based Coca-Cola bottler, has secured funding worth US$200m to boost capacity across its five markets.

The CCI board of directors has approved a US$200m loan facility from a consortium of six banks, which include HSBC and Rabobank. CCI said the cash would be "be mainly used to increase production capacity in order to meet the growing market demands".

As an example of CCI's investment, a spokesman for the bottler said today (26 February) that it would look to open a water source in the coming weeks.

CCI produces and distributes Coca-Cola and third-party for Turkey and four other markets including Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

Coca-Cola owns a 25% stake in CCI with Turkish drinks group Anadolu Efes owning a 51% majority interest in the bottler.
