JAPAN: Coca-Cola West to merge subsidiaries

Japanese bottler Coca-Cola West Holdings is set to merge three subsidiaries, according to local reports.
Local reports said yesterday (26 October) that the move is part of a group reorganisation. Earlier this month, reports from the country claimed that all 12 Coke bottlers in the country are to consolidate marketing activity in Japan. The consolidated company will take over the sales and marketing functions performed by Coca-Cola National Sales and Coca-Cola Japan.
Kansai Logistics Co in Settsu, Osaka prefecture, western Japan, Mikasa Logistic Co in Tenri, Nara prefecture, central Japan, and Coca-Cola West Japan Logistics Co in Hiroshima, southern Japan are set to merge. The latter will absorb the first two subsidiaries and will be renamed Coca-Cola West Logistics Co., the news service said.
The move is expected to be completed on 1 January.
