US: Coca-Cola given okay to light Fuze

By | 27 February 2007

The Coca-Cola Co. has received official approval for its planned purchase of Fuze Beverage.

The global drinks giant received clearance from the Federal Trade Commission yesterday (26 February) to acquire Fuze for an undisclosed amount. The FTC cleared the transaction without requiring any further changes to the deal.

Earlier this month, Coca-Cola confirmed that it had agreed to buy Fuze as an addition to its non-carbonates portfolio.

Fuze's range includes a line of enhanced juices and teas and WaterPlus enhanced waters. The deal will also see Coca-Cola attain the license for Fuze's NOS energy drink brand.

Fuze will continue to operate as a stand-alone entity of Coca-Cola, the Atlanta-based soft drinks giant said.
