Coca-Cola Entreprises plans to invest EUR20m (US25.79m)  to double capacity at its production plant in Castanet-Tolosan, near Toulouse in south-west France.

The bottler said today (10 November) that the move "demonstrates its confidence in the development of the French market".

Work on a new bottling line, to raise the plant's annual capacity to 12m-14m cases,  is scheduled to begin at the start of next year. A company official told just-drinks that there was no fixed date for the line to enter service.

Production at the plant includes Coca Cola, Coke Zero, Fanta and Sprite. The new bottling line will allow for production in 0.5-litre PETs, the official said.

In 2007, CCE invested EUR36m in its plants in Dunkirk, in northern France, and Pennes-Mirabeau, near Marseilles.
