CANADA: Coca-Cola Bottling invests $9m in Ottawa

Coca-Cola Bottling Company has announced it will invest $9m in a new sales, warehouse and distribution facility to be built in Ottawa, Ontario. Located in Hawthorne Industrial Park, the new 76,000 sq. ft. facility will provide Coca-Cola Bottling Company with additional space for increased product storage, updated employee workspace and improved access and parking for the sales center's fleet of over 100 vehicles.
"This announcement is a clear indication of our success in the local market and our commitment to invest in our business and our people," said Joe Stokes, area vice president, Coca-Cola Bottling Company. "This long-term commitment will enable us to better serve our customers in the Ottawa and surrounding areas and, ultimately, increase our future growth potential."
"I am delighted that Coca-Cola Bottling Company has chosen to invest in the long-term economic health of our great City," said Maria McRae, River Ward City councillor and vice chair of the corporate services and economic development committee for the City of Ottawa. "I look forward to the completion of the new facility and seeing the benefits that it will bring to Ottawa and surrounding area."
Groundbreaking for the new facility is planned for September, with completion scheduled for the spring of 2005.
