While the Coca-Cola Company is at the centre of an environmental row in India over advertising appearing on eco-fragile Himalayan rocks, Coca-Cola Amatil, in which the soft drinks giant owns a 35% stake, is winning plaudits in New Zealand for its eco-friendly approach to business.

Coca-Cola Amatil NZ has received a Massey University award for being an environmentally friendly company while the company's ranking for environmental responsiveness among New Zealand's 200 largest firms rose from 16th to 2nd in 2002.
