UK: Chieftain’s single malt relaunched

By | 16 October 2006

Ian Macleod Distillers has opted to relaunch its collection of Chieftain's single malt Scotch whiskies.

The company has redesigned the collection's bottle tube, which is now a light burgundy metallic colour, moving away from its previous gold tube design.

Ian Macleod marketing director Iain Weir said: "The market for the whisky connoisseur is becoming increasingly competitive and we therefore had to ensure that the Chieftain's packaging stood out and reflected the superior value and excellence of the range vis-a-vis its competition.  We believe we have achieved this."

Chieftain's is selected from a limited number of rare single malts from Scottish distilleries, and the range's new packaging has enlarged the size of the distillery name on the bottle to emphasise this.
