US fine wines and spirits distributor the Charmer Sunbelt Group (CSG) has taken full control of two more of its regional units as part of a streamlining initiative.

The New York City-headquartered firm has acquired its partners' interests in United Distributors in Delaware and Beverage Distributors in Colorado, it announced yesterday. Marne Obernauer, Beverage Distributors' MD, will join CSG's board of directors as part of the transition.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Last September, CSG acquired its partners' interest in R&R Marketing in New Jersey, having also previously bought out its partners in Virginia's Associated Distributors and South Carolina's Ben Arnold.

"This completes a strategy we embarked on several years ago to acquire the interests of our non-operating partners and further streamline our operations," said Greg Baird, CSG's president, who stepped up to the role this week.

Charles Merinoff, the firm's CEO added: "Having accomplished our goal of simplifying our ownership structure, we are well positioned to maximise our strategic alignment with our suppliers."
