UK: Charles Heidsieck unveils Vintage 2000

By | 2 December 2008

Charles Heidsieck, the Remy Champagne currently distributed by Maxxium UK, has introduced a Vintage 2000 to its collection.

Following the release of the company's Rosé Réserve earlier this year, the Vintage 2000 is now available in the on and off-trade, the company said yesterday (1 December).

"The introduction of the Vintage 2000 is perfectly timed for the festive season," said Janette Peat, Maxxium UK brand manager. "Despite the economic downturn, our Champagne sales continue to do well as people are still keen to upgrade to luxury products at this time of year."

Figures from the Champagne union UMC revealed yesterday that global Champagne sales have fallen 2.4% by volume in the first nine months of 2008, the first fall in any comparable period since 2000.
