Argentinean wine company Bodegas Chandon is set to build another winery in the country in time for next year's harvest, according to local reports.

La Nacion newspaper said yesterday (21 November) that the company, which is owned by LVMH Moët Hennessey Louis Vuitton, will spend ARS17m (US$5.5m) on a red wine bodegas in Mendoza. The facilities will produce up to 4m litres of Tinto and should be ready for March next year.

The winery will be located at the site Chandon already has in the Mendoza region, at Agrelo.

At the same time Bodegas Chandon will invest ARS3.5m on expanding its Terrazas de los Andes installation at Pedriel, also in Mendoza, the paper said.

Bodegas Chandon makes sparking wines under the Chandon and Baron B. brands, along with the Valmont, Latitud 33, 2Voces and Guiado still wines. The company is the leader in its domestic market.
