BERMUDA: CFO switch at Bacardi

By | 27 April 2007

Bacardi has appointed a new CFO.

The privately-held drinks company confirmed today (27 April) that Graham Hetherington will assume the position from next Tuesday. Hetherington, 48, replaces Ralph Morera, who will become executive vice president "with responsibility outside of finance in matters of interest and importance to Bacardi", the company said.

Prior to joining Bacardi, Hetherington spent 14 years at Allied Domecq, where he served as CFO for six years up until the company was bought by Pernod Ricard and Fortune Brands in 2005. Since the sale, Hetherington has been "considering various proposals and ventures," a spokesperson for Bacardi told just-drinks.

"We are delighted to have Graham join the top management team of Bacardi Limited," said Andreas Gembler, Bacardi's CEO and president. "Graham's exceptional global experience as a senior financial executive, coupled with a wealth of experience in developing robust financial systems and strong management teams, will allow him to build upon the achievements of Ralph Morera.

"Graham's knowledge and experience in business development and acquisitions in our industry will allow Bacardi to achieve even greater success in the dynamic premium and super premium spirits business in the future."

Hetherington will be based in Bacardi's global headquarters in Hamilton, Bermuda.
