Compania Cervecera de Canarias (CCC) has posted a healthy rise in operating profit. The Spanish brewer said yesterday (25 October) that operating profit for its fiscal year to 31 March leapt by 22% year-on-year to €17.7m (US$21.4m).

Net profit at the company dipped however, from €8.8m in the previous year to €5.8m. CCC blamed the fall on restructuring plans carried out through the year.

Turnover at the company was up slightly, by 1.2% on the corresponding period a year earlier to just over €130m.

In the coming year, director Alfonso Bosch said, the company intends to spend €7m on environmental projects, improving existing bottling lines and work safety.

CCC is based on the Canary Islands, and employs about 1,000 workers, 90 of which are full-time employees.
