AUSTRALIA: CC Amatil continues Berri talks

Australia's Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd hopes to finalise talks to purchase juice company Berri Ltd.

The company is in talks with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission about its plans to buy the unlisted juice company. CCA's managing director, Terry Davis, hopes the talks will be concluded within the next two weeks.

At an investor briefing Davis spoke of CCA's desire to break into the juice market. He hopes to complete talks with the ACCC before continuing discussions with Berri.

The company has recently acquired Neverfail Springwater, Australia's largest home and water office supplier. Analysts predict that it may cost up to A$400m for Berri.
