Castel is investing €4m in extending bottling capacity at its wine preparation and vinification facility at Beziers. The investment is a move to strengthen its presence in the Languedoc-Roussillon vineyards.

Castel is investing in a sixth bottling line for its "bag-in-box" range with a capacity of 800 units/hour in three and five litre formats. The five existing lines have a capacity of 12,000 bottles/hour.

Investment will also target the construction of a new tasting room, a 5,000 sq.m warehouse, new pallet preparation facilities and an extra vat with a capacity of 10,000 hectolitres.

Castel also vinifies 60,000 hectolitres of wine annually at the same Beziers site using grapes purchased locally.
