POLAND: Carlsberg eyes share gains in Poland

The head of Carlsberg's Polish subsidiary, Carlsberg Polska, has been quoted in the local press saying the company will make big investments in the country this year to drive increases in its market share.

Polish News Digest reported that the company was planning to boost its market share to 20% by 2010. The report stated that the brewer, which owns the Okocim, Kasztelan and Bosman breweries, currently holds a 14.3% share - placing it third in the country.

Polska was reported to have sold 4.314m hectolitres of beer in 2005, a 7% year-on-year increase.
