Carlsberg has bought a 50% share in Tibet's only brewer. The Danish company announced today that had acquired half of Lhasa Brewery for an undisclosed sum, together with the Danish Industrialisation Fund for Developing Countries.

The current owner, Tibet Galaxy Science & Technology Development Co Ltd, will keep the other half of the brewer.

Lhasa Brewery holds 45% market share in Tibet, with annual revenue of DKK120m (US$20.53m), according to Carlsberg. The Danish company expects the market to grow by around 8% per year.
