Carlsberg Breweries' chief financial officer Bjørn Erik Næss is to leave the comany at the end of the year, after informing his Board he wished to resign his position to move back to Norway, because of family reasons.

Næss has been chief financial officer for Carlsberg Breweries since the company was established in February 2001.

"He has been responsible for the wide-ranging development of the Group's internal reporting, and has made a significant contribution to the establishment of Carlsberg Breweries and the integration of Orkla's beverage businesses with Carlsberg Breweries," the comany said in a statement.

Carlsberg said it intended to make a decision regarding Næss' successor during the autumn.
