Capital Group International has raised its stake in Wimm-Bill-Dann to 5.6% from 4%. Capital, one of the world's largest institutional investors, initially bought a 1.6% stake in the dairy and juice maker at its IPO in 2002.

The extra 1.6% acquisition was bought from Wimm-Bill-Dann's core shareholders.

Late last year, takeover talks between Danone and Wimm-Bill-Dann were called off because agreement on terms of the deal could not be reached.
