ITALY: Campari plans for complete Skyy ownership

By | 18 February 2005

Davide Campari-Milano SpA is thought to be planning a buyout of the shares it doesn't already own in the vodka company Skyy Spirits Group.

The Italian daily MF, without giving a source, reported that Campari was to offer €180-200m for the remaining 41% stake in Skyy.

Maurice Kanbar, Skyy's founder, owns a 30% share in the vodka company. The remaining shareholding is owned by Skyy's management.

Under the terms of an original agreement, Campari has had the right to buy, and Kanbar the right to sell, the stake since the middle of January this year.
