Brown-Forman has promoted its controller to the newly-created position of director of financial management and technology.

The company said today (1 May) that Jane Morreau will take on the new role, responsible for the financial management of the company's sales, marketing, and production functions, reporting to CFO Don Berg.

Morreau will continue in her role as principal accounting officer, as well as taking responsibility for the company's technology and information management functions. Concurrent with the promotion, Morreau will also join Brown-Forman's management executive committee.

Berg said: "Jane's depth and breadth of knowledge of our business, coupled with her many years of experience, make her the ideal person to help lead our finance and technology organisations."

Morreau joined Brown-Forman in 1991 as manager of financial analysis and has served as director, assistant vice president, and vice president of the business planning and analysis function and most recently as controller.
