Brown-Forman Beverages has replaced Bacardi as its spirits distributor in Canada. The company said yesterday (14 April) that Charlton-Hobbs of Montreal will assume distribution responsibilities for both its wine and spirits portfolios in the country from 1 May.

"Charton-Hobbs has performed well in distributing Brown-Forman's wine brands in Canada for more than 20 years," said Don Berg, president of Brown-Forman Spirits Americas, "and we believe consolidating our spirits brands with our wine portfolio will allow us to achieve synergies and build our entire portfolio to its full potential."

"Bacardi has done a fine job representing Brown-Forman spirits in Canada," added Berg, "but this move allows us to consolidate all of our brands with one distributor in this important market."

In Canada, Brown-Forman markets Jack Daniel's, Gentleman Jack, Jack Daniel's Single Barrel, Southern Comfort, Finlandia Vodkas, Canadian Mist, and Woodford Reserve as well as Fetzer, Sonoma-Cutrer, Bonterra, Five Rivers, Jekel, One.6 and One.9 California Wines, Korbel California Champagnes, and Bolla Italian Wines.
