UK: Britvic takes to the buses with Purdey's summer ad campaign

By Sarah Diston | 6 July 2001

Britvic Soft Drinks has announced an outdoor summer advertising campaign for Purdey's Silver 'Active Life.'

The 'Energise Peacefully' campaign will be seen in London and Manchester during the summer on the back of buses and massive poster sites, in a bid to drive awareness and purchase among the brands core audience of city based, young professional consumers.

The six executions show Purdey's Silver represented as a variety of de-stressing objects, for example the silver pack becomes a release valve and wind chimes. The Purdey's ads also feature a bottle with a calming steely blue halo and captions such as "Feng Shui your insides" and "Liquid Yoga."

Britvic's director of brand marketing, Cathryn Sleight said: "Purdey's was acquired by Britvic Soft Drinks in 2000 as a central part of our Right Choice category management programme to expand our adult range.

"Energise Peacefully" positions Purdey's Silver as an energising yet relaxing drink, a unique product, very different from 'standard' energy drinks. These striking and highly visible bottle shots on buses and posters will increase trial and penetration of Purdey's in busy city areas and reinforce its distinctive positioning in the category," she added.

Further activity will include a sampling campaign and account specific promotions.
