UK: BrewDog launches black Zeitgeist beer

UK beer company BrewDog has launched a black lager called Zeitgeist.
Zeitgeist is a 4.9% ABV beer made with "all-natural" ingredients, the company said today (26 February), with hints of chocolate and coffee.
BrewDog MD James Watt said it is the "original colour" of all lagers.
He said: "Originally, before the advent of modern pale malting technology, all lagers were black. Progress is not always a good thing. We want people to discover the joys of a real, proper lager."
Zeitgeist is available to the on-trade in bottles, casks and kegs and to the off-trade in bottles, as well as online.
Zeitgeist launches today in London's Austin Gallery at an exhibition by Heather Brennan, the designer of the beer's bottle label.
Sectors: Beer & cider
