According to figures from the Spanish National Association of Water Bottling companies (ANEABE), the country produced 5.1 billion litres of bottled water in 2003, a 13% jump from 2002.

Nearly 92% of production was in bottled mineral water, up from 87.9% in 2002, and 5.7% was as bottled spring water, down from 7%. The rest was made as purified water.

Bottled water consumption in Spain was 119 litres per capita, up from 110 litres per capita, as consumers became more health-orientated in their drinking habits.
