FRANCE: Bordeaux wine council CIVB appoints marketing director
By James Jordan | 8 September 2011
The Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB) has confirmed a change of marketing director.
The trade body confirmed earlier today (8 September) that Francois Jumeau has replaced Pascal Loridon in the role from the end of last month. Loridon has left the council to assume an unspecified role at French wine co-operative Val d’Orbieu, a spokesperson for the CIVB has told just-drinks.
Among Jumeau's responsibilities are to organise an international communication campaign, targetting Germany, Belgium, China, France, Japan, the UK and the US, and to re-organise the management of relations with distribution channels in France's on- and off-trade. He will also be charged with creating a digital strategy for the CIVB.
He joins the organisation from Kronenbourg Breweries, where he had been director of super-premium brands since 2007. Jumeau has also worked at Coca-Cola France and at Moet Hennessy distribution, handling Mercier Champagne brands.
