UK: Blavod sees extreme growth
UK-based spirits producer Blavod Extreme Spirits (BES) has recorded strong growth on both sides of the Atlantic, according to figures released by the company today.
Predicted overall turnover for the six month period from April to September is expected to be up 53% on the same period last year, with growth of 39% in the UK and 61% in the US. Agency business is up by 45%.
As well as Player's Extreme Vodka and Blavod Black Vodka, growth in the States has been aided by the group's joint venture with Suntory's US arm and the launch of El Diamante del Cielo tequila.
Commenting on the anticipated results, CEO Jeff Hopmayer said: "We have continued to benefit from the growth of our core brands Blavod Black Vodka, El Diamante del Cielo Tequila and the Players Extreme range. Sales in the UK and the US have increased substantially, and we expect the joint venture with Suntory to contribute strongly to the group's profitability in the future."
Full interim results for BES will be published in November.
